Aspen Real Life has become the new title for my blog. This does not mean that I don’t still question everyday, “Is Dis Normal or Dysfunctional,” as I raise my three boys with my husband in the countryside outside of Aspen, Colorado.
I am disorganized and perpetually late, much to the dismay of my oldest son, Brevitt. I have a hot temper and have been referred to as an Ogre by my middle son, Axel. Occasionally while I am sweeping I feel like getting on my broom and flying around the house laughing hysterically and throwing smoke bombs at anything that moves. My youngest son, Tucker, knows that humor can break my spell and uses it as a tool whenever he gets the chance.
Bluebird days, warm sunshine, a good novel or a Foreign Film nurtures my soul but what gets me smiling most of all, when I am not being an Ogre or a Witch, are my boys and my husband, Wade.
I am terrified of sharks but love to swim in the ocean. I also love to run my fingers across soft cheeks and cashmere. I am a sucker for a good romance, especially when Opera is playing in the background, not Oprah!
I have often been compared to Rosana-Rosana Dana and Elaine from Seinfeld but I see myself more like a female Matthew Mchonoughy. Wade, who has been mistaken for Pierce Brosnan, prefers to think of me as his Alotta Fagina and he is my Will Ferrell.
As you will see, I am not your average travel writer and love to tell the real “behind the scenes” story. Another avenue for my travel is discovering local talent and finding out what makes the Roaring Fork Valley tick. You can find these filmed interviews in my “Aspen’s Local Color” series.
All reviews and interviews are written on a trade or cash basis. If you are interested in being featured just shoot me an email to isdisnormal@gmail.com.
I respond to all requests for reviews, interviews or link exchanges so if you are a local talent, have a ski resort, a camp, a restaurant, a hotel or a small shack in Polynesia that you would like me to review, than by all means contact me as well.
